Something new…

I’ve been one of the few who have always been in a relationship since I was about 15… Until recently. The longest I’ve ever been single since I was 15 was about a year and even then I was still talking to someone. So I’ve never really been single. I guess nows a good time to start. But I’ve come to realize that I don’t really like it. In fact I kinda hate it. Not cause I miss having someone around, or cause I’m lonely or cause my happiness depends on them. I’m fine right now and I know I can be happy on my own. But there isn’t anything wrong with wanting to be with someone. I guess I’ve just had my fair share of amazing relationships that it was always nice to have someone there. Sure I can go out and do whatever I want. I can have fun with friends and not have to worry about someone else’s feelings. I can talk to and dance with whoever I want with out having someone hold me down. I’ve experienced all of this first hand within the last year and well… It’s all fun but not really. I think about the people I’ve danced with, the guys I’ve met, the free drinks I’ve gotten, and the freedom and when I really think about it, it was all empty happiness. These are people I’ll never see again. And who wants to spend their memories with people they won’t remember. But I could also be wrong. But I’ve also been able to go out with a significant other and well i had the best time ever. I didn’t have to worry about some creepy asking me to dance, I always had a great dance partner, I had someone to protect me, and at the end of the night he would still be there. Wether together or even just on the phone. And when you look back you’ll think ” oh yea I remember that night when WE…..” It’s different when you’re with someone. It’s so much more fun in my opinion. But I guess that’s just me. I’m just a relationship type of person.

Here’s to trying to enjoy being single.
